Parish Family Advisory Council Quarterly Update

This summer marks the two-year anniversary of Partners in the Gospel. During these past two years, our parish family has begun the work of reimagining how we can best proclaim and live the joy of the Gospel while serving the needs of our communities for generations to come. 

This fall, we’ll begin Phase 3, Who Does God Want Us to Become? Together, we’ll prayerfully discern a shared vision for our parish family and identify the priorities that will guide our ministries, outreach, and mission for years to come. This work will become the foundation of our One Parish Plan.

Please save the dates for our next two Parish Family Listening Sessions on Saturday, September 12, and Saturday, November 7. More details will be shared later this summer.

This summer, the feasibility study exploring the possibility of the Sacred Heart of Jesus campus becoming a Marian shrine also continues. This remains a time of prayerful discernment; no decisions have been made. If the feasibility study is favorable, informational gatherings will be held this fall to share what we’ve learned and answer questions.

As Archbishop Etienne reminds us, Partners in the Gospel belongs to all of us. Please continue praying for these efforts, asking God to help us truly listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to shape the desires of our hearts.

Here is the status for our three parishes. It’s not too late to donate. Go to this link. Learn about our parish family rebate projects here. 

–Sacred Heart of Jesus
A very big thank you to the Sacred Heart community—we have reached and surpassed our ACA goal of $23,381! The parish will receive the extra funds as a rebate toward our project. The current total is $43,134.

–Our Lady of Fatima
A very big thank you to the Our Lady of Fatima community—we have reached our ACA goal of $86,645! The current total is $94,630.

–St. Anne
A very big thank you to the St. Anne community—we are making amazing progress and this week the total is $72,764! We are nearly to our goal of $82,861. If you have not yet given, please prayerfully consider it. Any amount is appreciated.

The feast day of Sts Joachim and Anne is celebrated on July 26th.
A Novena
Good parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, grandparents of our Savior, Jesus Christ,
When life seems barren, help us to trust in God’s mercy. When we are confused, help us to find the way to God. When we are lost in the desert, lead us to those whom God has called us to love. When our marriage seems lifeless, show us the eternal youth of the Lord. When we are selfish, teach us to cling only to that which lasts. When we are afraid, help us to trust in God. You who know God’s will for husband and wife, help us to live chastely. You who know God’s will for the family, keep all families close to you. –Assumption Rosary Walk
WHEN: August 12 from 11:15 am to 12 pm
WHERE: Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th Street, Shoreline, WA
All Catholics are invited to join us at Holyrood Cemetery for a Rosary Walk in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Bring your rosary as Fr. Wichert leads us through the grounds to pray for loved ones. Bring your Rosary and meet us in front of the Chapel Mausoleum.
